Cauri Blog

Privacy policy

This notice explains how Soatdev IT Consulting SRL processes personal data when you visit news.getcauri.com (the "blog"). The blog is a public, read-only marketing surface for the Cauri product.

1. Data controller

  • Belgian Crossroads Bank for Enterprises (BCE/KBO): BE1014369580
  • VAT: BE1014.369.580
  • Email: support@getcauri.com
  • Phone:

2. Scope

This notice covers only the blog at news.getcauri.com. The Cauri application at https://app.encryptinvoice.com is operated separately and is governed by its own privacy notice — see https://app.encryptinvoice.com/privacy.

3. What we collect

The blog is deliberately minimal. We do not set cookies, track you across sites, ask you to create an account, or run third-party advertising trackers.

We process the following, on the legal bases set out below.

3.1 Server logs — legitimate interest (GDPR Art. 6(1)(f))

Every HTTP request is logged with timestamp, request URL, HTTP method, response status, response time, IP address, and User-Agent string. We use these logs for security, abuse prevention, and debugging. Retention: 30 days.

3.2 Cookieless analytics (Matomo) — legitimate interest

When enabled, we use a self-hosted instance of Matomo configured in cookieless mode. Matomo records the page URL, the previous page (referrer), the country derived from the truncated IP, the device class, the browser language, and aggregated visit metrics. No cookies are set. IP addresses are anonymized at collection time (last octets dropped). Retention: 13 months.

3.3 Error reports (Bugsink) — legitimate interest

When the blog encounters an unexpected server-side error, the stack trace and request metadata (URL, status code, request identifier, IP address) are forwarded to our self-hosted Bugsink instance. We use this to diagnose and fix software defects. Retention: 90 days.

3.4 Support inbox (FreeScout) — pre-contractual measures or legitimate interest (Art. 6(1)(b) / (f))

If you email support@getcauri.com, your message and email address are stored in our self-hosted FreeScout instance for as long as needed to answer you, and for 3 years after our last contact to defend potential claims (Belgian general limitation period, Art. 2262bis Civil Code).

3.5 Local browser storage

Your browser stores two keys on your device — theme-preference (light or dark mode) and cookieless-notice-dismissed (whether you've closed the "no cookies" banner). These never reach our servers and are not cookies.

4. Where data is stored

All infrastructure (web server, Matomo, Bugsink, FreeScout) is hosted on servers under our exclusive control, located in the European Union. We do not currently transfer personal data outside the EU. If that changes, this notice will be updated before any transfer takes place.

5. Recipients

Apart from the data controller, only the hosting provider of our servers has technical access to the infrastructure. We do not share your data with marketing partners, advertising networks, or analytics aggregators.

6. Your rights

Under the GDPR you have the right to:

  • access the personal data we hold about you (Art. 15);
  • request rectification of inaccurate data (Art. 16);
  • request erasure (Art. 17);
  • restrict processing (Art. 18);
  • receive your data in a portable format (Art. 20);
  • object to processing based on legitimate interest (Art. 21);
  • lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority.

To exercise any right, email support@getcauri.com. We answer within 30 days.

The supervisory authority for our establishment is the Belgian Data Protection Authority (APD / GBA) — see https://www.dataprotectionauthority.be. You may also lodge a complaint with the supervisory authority of your member state.

7. Children

The blog is not directed at children under 16. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children.

8. Changes to this notice

Material changes will be reflected at the top of this page with a new "last updated" date. Continued use of the blog after a change indicates acceptance of the updated notice.
